Under the DPDP Act, you are the Data Principal and we are the Data Fiduciary.

Birth detailsName, Date of birth, time of birth, place of birthThe service cannot function without these. They are the sole input to your astrological chart
Current cityOptionalSo sunrise, muhurat and daily timings are computed for where you live. If you do not provide it, we use your place of birth
Stated concernsOptional — career, marriage, health and so onTo make readings relevant
Marital statusOptionalTo make readings relevant
ConversationsYour messages and the replies generatedSo conversations continue where you left off
Transaction statusWhether a payment succeeded, subscription state, mandate statusTo manage your subscription

Your birth details are sensitive in effect, because they uniquely identify you and are not changeable. We treat them accordingly. We do not collect, receive or store any of your payment information

Lawful basis

  • We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you create your account and submit your birth details, and for the legitimate uses permitted under section 7 of the DPDP Act, including compliance with law.
  • Consent for optional data (current city, concerns, marital status) is separate and may be withdrawn without affecting your account.
  • Withdrawing consent for your birth details means we cannot provide the service, and your account will be closed, because the chart cannot be computed without them.

How we use it

  • To compute your birth chart and generate your daily readings.
  • To allow astrologer personas to respond in the context of your chart and your previous messages.
  • To process your subscription and manage the autopay mandate.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.
  • To diagnose faults and improve the Platform.
  • We do not use your birth details, chart or conversations for advertising, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.

Data

  • Astrologer replies are generated by a large language model. To generate a reply, your chart data and the conversation so far are sent to the model.
  • The model receives only what is needed to answer. It does not receive your mobile number or payment information.
  • Generated output is produced automatically. It is not reviewed by a human before you see it, except where you report it to us.
  • Your conversations are not used for training. We do not use your conversations to train, fine-tune or improve any artificial intelligence model, whether our own or a third party's. Your conversations are used only to generate your replies and to maintain your chat history
  • You should not share sensitive personal information in chat that is not needed for a reading — financial account details, identification numbers, or health information about yourself or anybody else

Security

  • We apply reasonable security safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting staff access to what their role requires, and logging of access to personal data.
  • No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own risk.
  • In the event of a personal data breach we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required by the DPDP Act.

Children

  • Tara is for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of a child.
  • If we learn that we hold data of someone under 18, we will delete it and close the account.
  • We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children, as prohibited by section 9 of the DPDP Act.

Storage and cross-border transfer

  • Your personal data is stored on servers located in India.
  • Some service providers may process data outside India. Where they do, transfers are made only to countries not restricted by the Central Government under section 16 of the DPDP Act, and under contractual protections.
